Economics Competition - Economic and financial literacy for the next generation!

Too few education systems recognize the powerful and lifelong impact which an early education in economics and finance can have on everyone’s daily lives. The Economics Competition's purpose is to inspire interest in economics learning among teenagers. The Center for Economic and Social Development (CESD) for the second year in a row, with the support of Economics Fundamentals Initiative will be a local partner for the organization of the Economic Competition in Azerbaijan

There will be 4 rounds in the competition, 3 of which will be in Azerbaijan, and an international round in Greece. The first is the school round. Afterwards, there will be a regional and national round. At the end of these rounds, students which received the highest scores in English will have the chance to represent Azerbaijan in the international round. Last year, 5 students were taken to Bratislava, Slovakia.

The Economics Competition will be held based on the book "Common Sense Economics" (the link is below). The book is available in 10 languages, for Azerbaijan you can get the versions in 3 languages (Azerbaijani, Russian, English) by visiting the link. Exams will be conducted in these 3 languages. Whichever language suits the student, they can take the exam in that language.

The first round is planned to be held at the end of March and beginning of April. The date of the exam will be chosen so that it does not coincide with the students' state exams.

Then the regional tour - the end of April

The national tour is planned for mid-May.

The international tour will be held on September 1-4.

Registration ends on 14.03.2024 (March 14).

Only citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, students of 9-10-11 grades can participate in the competition.
